The Mysterious Hills Winter Hike Series here at Brown County State Park has become a bit of a tradition. This series takes visitors off the beaten path to discover some of the historic places hidden beneath the forest canopy. From man made lakes that were started but never finished, to an old village with many homesteads, and even to a large boulder perched high in the tree tops, these hikes never disappoint. Don't miss out on these once a year journeys to places only accessible with the state park naturalist!

Join us the first and third Thursday of the month at the Upper Shelter for a no drop ride on the trails at Brown County State Park. This ride is free, gate admission to the park does apply. Please sign our waiver. Remember lights and helmets are required. We're stoked to ride with y'all!

There's something magical about hearing a GT350's exhaust note bouncing off the forest trees in a curvy, mountainous state park, and that something is simple: fun. Upon the Indiana SAAC’s formation in 1977, the Shelby Spring Fling quickly became a Brown County staple that has continued for over 40 years. The fling is a relaxing, fun, family oriented event for all Shelby and Mustang enthusiasts alike, which includes a car show on Saturday.
