Spend a little time outdoors in nature, observing. Then participate in guided writing exercises with poet and artist Michele Heather Pollock of Lost Lake Studio. The workshop will take place, rain or shine, outdoors in the shelter next to the Nature Center at Brown County State Park.

Poetry Hike with Michele Heather Pollock

Take a short (0.5 mile) hike on the paved Friends Trail with poet and artist Michele Heather Pollock, stopping along the way to read aloud and listen to some poetry. We'll walk together in the Brown County woods, looking closely at whatever there is to see. Michele will read from her new book, Fallen-log-ology, as well as some of her favorite nature poems by her favorite poets. You are encouraged to bring one of your favorite poems to read aloud among the trees, but you are welcome to join us just to look and listen.

Get your team together and head to the beautiful State Park for Brown County Survivor! You and your teammates will compete in five different challenges set-up to test your skills in survival. Each team will be comprised of five players, one of which must be 10 years old or under. Each member of your team will compete in one timed event. Whichever team completes all five challenges in the least amount of time... wins!

Presented by the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association (HMBA), the festival will take place in the Brown County State Park, providing plenty of gorgeous scenery and mountain biking trails galore. With routes varying from 25 to 100 miles, this festival is a mountain biker’s dream come true! Enjoy rides, demos, vendor shopping, food, music, and more.

Shelby Spring Fling

There's something magical about hearing a GT350's exhaust note bouncing off the forest trees in a curvy, mountainous state park, and that something is simple: fun. Upon the Indiana SAAC’s formation in 1977, the Shelby Spring Fling quickly became a Brown County staple that has continued for over 40 years. The fling is a relaxing, fun, family oriented event for all Shelby and Mustang enthusiasts alike, which includes a car show on Saturday.
