Winter Hike Series: Hike to Kelp Village
December 21, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pmFree
|This year’s Winter Hike Series will kick off with a hike to a small village that once existed within the Brown County State Park boundaries. With the holidays coming, this trek will pay a visit to this area in search of remnants of Kelp Village, imagining what the holidays would have been like in the hills of Brown County over 100 years ago. This hike will meet at Strahl Lake Shelter House and head along the original road bed toward Kelp Village. This hike is approximately 1.5 miles in total on easy terrain. Dress for the weather and bring along your archaeologist eye as you look for past ruins.
Dogs are welcome, but must be on a 6ft. leash and get along well with other dogs and humans alike.
*Park gate fees apply. Advanced registration is not necessary and there is no limit on attendance.
