9:00 a.m. – Begins with a rare opportunity to study and create a “master copy” from a selection from the Guild’s permanent collection of landscape paintings . Master works will include V.J. Cariani, Carl Graf and more! Pam will start with a short history of the paintings. Then she will guide everyone through the time-honored practice of creating a “master copy” of one of the permanent collection works – one of the most effective and valuable modes of learning to paint. Participants will be surrounded by many fine landscapes by past and present Guild member artists for inspiration.
12:00 p.m. – Lunch at the historic Hob Nob (menu choice upon registration, lunch price included in workshop)
Afternoon – Instruction and painting
9:00 a.m. – Apply what has been learned from painting a “master copy” and create one’s own landscape masterpiece! Participants will continue to learn about composition, values, color, edges, brushwork and more. Everyone will be guided on how to apply these principles to their own work.
Bringing inspirational color landscape photos or an iPad with photos as reference material is encouraged.
