Giving Picnics: Hickory Hill Hike & Explore Picnic Adventure
September 11, 2021 @ 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm

As part of the Giving Picnic series supporting the Brown County Community Foundation, Scott and Erika Rudd will lead a unique hike to an off-the-beaten path, historic orchard and canning factory known as Hickory Hill Orchards (circa 1911). Adventurers will enjoy a 2-mile hike that strolls through a section of the Tecumseh Trail with amazing views to an abandoned canning factory, owned by the state entomologist in the early 1900s, Benjamin Wallace Douglas. Learn the history of the orchard and canning factory along the way, as well as other unique Brown County adventure spots. The hike will conclude with a beautifully prepared picnic at a place on the Hickory Hill property, appropriately named – Picnic Hill. Purchase your picnic here!
Working with some great local donors and residents, Brown County Community Foundation (BCCF) is launching its first series of Adventure Picnics. The Community Foundation has prepared exciting evening outings in unique locations complete with local food prepared by the Brown County Inn, interesting sites curated by Brown County residents, and a new way to interact with and give back to the foundation that serves our community.
