Made In Brown County
Brown County is known for its high quality, handmade products and has some great tours for groups!
Day 1
Afternoon: Arrive to visit the Antique Alley shops to see Wooden Wonders (carved wood figures), All About Dogs, Brown County Pottery, The Clay Purl (for your favorite yarn), For Bare Feet (fun socks), K. Bellum Leather, Olde Tyme Photography, Nature’s Cabin, and Paint Box Gallery. Afterwards, check in at either the Brown County Inn or The Seasons Lodge, and relax by the pool or indulge in a cocktail in their lounge.
Evening: Have dinner at the historic Nashville House Dining Room, famous for their fried biscuits and homemade apple butter. Take in a show at the Brown County Playhouse, where they do a variety of shows year-round.
Day 2
Morning: Following a hearty breakfast at The Seasons Lodge or Brown County Inn, tour T.C. Steel State Historic Site and discover the hidden gem of Brown County. Attracted by its natural beauty, famed Hoosier Group impressionist artist, Theadore C. Steele (1847-1926) was the first major artist to settle in Brown County. You can visit his home and studio here. Afterwards, visit the Spears Gallery, which showcases artist Larry Spears. Larry’s work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. at various national exhibitions and shows.
Afternoon: Grab lunch in downtown Nashville at one of our quick snack shops, or a local eatery serving Hoosier comfort food. See fudge made at the Nashville Fudge Kitchen. From the moment you walk in the door and breathe in the yummy aroma, you know it’s all about the candy. See how it’s made, and receive a candy sample gift! Visit Lawrence Family Glass Blowers for that special ornament or glass gift made special for you. Wind down your day with a tour and wine tasting at Brown County Winery.
Evening: Finish a great day with a buffet dinner at the dining room at The Harvest Dining Room (located in the Brown County Inn) or The Seasons Lodge Dining Room.
Day 3
Morning: Enjoy the delicious buffet breakfast served at your hotel. After checking out, spend the rest of your day at Brown County State Park to soak up some sun with hiking, bird-watching, or horseback riding or do some world class zipping at Explore Brown County (both day and night zipping available!).
