With the highest concentration of forested land in the state, Brown County’s more than 300 square miles is a nature lover’s paradise. The county is home to Brown County State Park, encompassing nearly 16,000 acres located along the Knobstone Escarpment, known for it’s steep hills and breathtaking views. Additional natural wonders of the county include the Middle Fork State Wildlife Refuge, portions of the Hoosier National Forest and Yellowwood State Forest, and Lakes Monroe, Yellowwood, Lemon, Sweetwater and Cordry.
