Not into the Super Bowl so much?

That's ok, not everyone digs football, Super Bowl, and the craziness that surrounds it. Here's an idea on what you can do if Super Bowl weekend isn't your cup of tea. And remember; take these with a grain of salt!

Join the Story Inn for the “Super Bowl Sanctuary”
Indianapolis will be overrun with sports revelers engaged in a perplexing, albeit time-honored, tradition that involves the intemperate consumption of watery domestic beer while bearing witness to ritualized combat between faux “tribes” of steroid-enhanced mesomorphs. They will make the #Occupy protesters seem genteel by comparison. This annual contrivance is packaged, marketed and promoted by much smarter people who wish to separate us all from our money.

The Story Inn will be offering a sensible sanctuary from this inanity. There will be no talk of this spectacle. There will be no “tailgating” in our parking lot. There will be no gladiators to watch on our Tavern’s television (the town’s only TV will be tuned to old movies instead—perhaps to “Superman”). No one in our employ will be bedecked with anything bearing a trademarked NFL tribal logo. And if anyone here employs the terms “tight end”, “backfield in motion”, or “drive up the middle” that weekend, such statements will likely be interpreted in provocative ways.

As an appropriate rural antidote to the super-madness, we’ll be offering our bottles of Super Tuscans at half price all weekend. Bring your MENSA card, and get a free appetizer too!
