Bridal Tour Highlights Brown County's Top Wedding Venues and Vendors

Destination Brown County invites all brides to experience Brown County’s top wedding venues at the Brown County Bridal Tour on Sunday, March 8. From 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., brides will be able to check out local venues and meet with vendors, getting a real feel for their future Brown County weddings. Not your typical bridal show, brides will have the unique opportunity to actually visit popular Brown County, Ind. wedding venues, as well as get the inside scoop on less known hidden gems.

Brown County Art Gallery Foundation Hosts Family Treasures Sale

The Brown County Art Gallery Foundation will host its annual Family Treasures Sale on November 15. The sale, which opens for preview on November 12 features over 40 works of art by early Indiana artists. The paintings have been consigned for sale from as far away as Madison, Wisconsin to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Others come from right here in Nashville. Most have been held in private collections for many years and are now being offered for sale to benefit the Gallery and its expansion plan.

T.C. Steele to host Great Outdoor Art Contest & Local Tastings

T.C. Steele State Historic Site to celebrate 26 years of creativity in Brown County. "In celebration of the birthday of Historic Site namesake Theodore Clement Steele, the Great Outdoors Art Contest & Local Tastings integrates history, art and nature as people come together to watch and support artists while enjoying various crafts and tastings provided by vendors," said State Historic Site Manager Andrea DeTarnowsky. "This event gives artists and visitors a unique insight into T.C. Steele's art and method of painting, en plein air , or out-of-doors. The event has been lauded the 'granddaddy' of Indiana PaintOuts by the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association."

Brown County Epic

Hoosier Mountain Bike Association (HMBA) announces a new Mountain Bike Festival (Oct. 10-12, 2014), called the Brown County Epic, in place of the Brown County Breakdown. The Brown County Epic will be a mountain bike festival and Epic Ride (up to 100 miles) within Brown County State Park and Yellowwood State Forest. The festival will include camping Fri-Sat night at the start/finish area, music, beer, food, games, great prize raffles, product and bike demos on Saturday, and an Epic Ride in the woods on Sunday, with 100, 75, 50, and 25-mile routes, with no repeating loops.

The Nashville Arts and Entertainment Commission has partnered with Elder Heart, a Veteran’s Organization that does community and private projects to raise awareness for the 22 veteran suicides that occur every day, to build an 18 foot leaf sculpture.
