The 19th annual Bean Blossom Blues Fest, is back again, bringing big names on the blues scene and plenty of jamming to the Bill Monroe Music Park and Campground, August 24-26. Not your typical music festival, the “Bean,” as it is so lovingly referred to, is a legendary blues bash!

Bill Monroe’s Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival, the world’s oldest, continuous running bluegrass festival, will return to Brown County for a 51st year, June 10-17. Taking place at the beautiful Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground, this prime music event will feature eight straight days of some of the best in bluegrass.

The John Hartford Memorial Festival jams its way back to Brown County for a seventh year, May 31 – June 3. At the end of the month, the historic Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground will ring with sounds of the nation’s finest Newgrass in celebration of the life, music, and legacy of the late, great John Hartford.

It has begun! Brown County’s famous foliage has started to change. Shades of yellow and orange can be seen lining the roads, including in the Brown County State Park. Fall’s colorful display also can be seen dotting the edges of the hillsides and sprinkled throughout Brown County’s stunning vistas. With peak weeks for the leaves on the horizon, each day brings more and more color.

Combining the best of both worlds, the Brown County Epic Mountain Bike Festival not only will showcase Brown County’s exceptional trail systems, but also will provide the perfect opportunity for admiring its colorful scenery. On October 7-9, bikers, spectators, enthusiasts, and everyone in between will be able to experience Brown County’s famous autumn season and some of the best mountain biking in the Midwest during the Brown County Epic Festival.

The Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau will be receiving the Google Street View Trekker beginning on October 3 just in time to capture Brown County’s famous fall foliage. For the month of October, the Brown County CVB in partnership with Google will acquire footage of the county through a series of hikes made by volunteers. From well-known trails and historic hot spots to some of Brown County’s more hidden gems, the Trekker will document it all.

Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Uncle Pen Days Festival returns to Brown County for a 42nd year, September 21-24. Taking place at the “home of bluegrass music” itself, this festival will feature four full days of entertainment, including over 40 bands, music and instrument workshops, around the clock jam sessions, camping, food, and the induction of Butch Robbins into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame.

Steeped in rich art heritage, Brown County has and always will be a haven for artists. Drawn to the area’s breathtaking vistas, lush scenery, and interesting characters, artists migrated to the region nearly a century ago to establish their own art colony, one of the first of its kind in the Midwest. Remnants from the early colony can still be seen today throughout the county, manifested by the over many working artists who still call the area home. This September, Brown County will pay special tribute to its historic roots during the Brown County Art Colony Weekend. September 9-11 art will come to life through several unique events, including live plein air painting demonstrations, the 28th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest, a Village Art Walk, opportunities to interact with local artists, music, and more.
