Brown County, Indiana is a place where art, nature and adventure live in harmony.
Visitors can find dozens of working studios nestled in the woods along the picturesque roads where artists and craftspeople of all types live and work.

During the week of May 9-18 more than 13 sites with 17 artists open their studios to the public. Visitors can watch artists create & demonstrate their work and take home a handcrafted piece of Brown County. Some studios even offer opportunities for visitors to try the process themselves, and offer classes throughout the year.

The studio tour is a free, self-guided driving tour, with maps available online at our
website: www.browncountystudiotour.com and also at local businesses in the county.

The variety of media is impressive, including glass, metal, pottery, fibers and weaving. All art is original and includes stained glass, acrylic paintings, painted glass, watercolors, mixed media and folk-painted gourds, jewelry, hand forged metal art, fiber art, traditional stoneware, sawdust-fired and raku pottery, crystalline glazed porcelain, glass art, garden art, recycled art, wearable art, photography, and handmade brooms. In fact, just about every art imaginable!

The 16th annual tour is anchored by the T. C. Steele Historic Site as Tour Headquarters featuring the home, studio and gardens of T. C. Steele. Steele came to Brown County over 100 years ago and started the community as a well-known artist colony.
