Maple "Sapturdays"

Join the Visitors Center for Maple "Sapturdays" this month! Head to the new Visitors Center for a Sap School talk before getting out and about for some hands-on maple fun! From learning the basics and tapping trees to sap collection and cooking with the final product, each Saturday will be a little different, but equally as great. 

Sap School Schedule:

March 10 - Maple Syrup 101: Introduction to Maple Syrup (FREE)
10 a.m.; should last about 1 hour
In honor of Indiana Maple Weekend and to kick off Maple "Sapturdays," learn the basics of maple syrup with a brief talk at the Visitors Center. Then, hit the town for a short walk where you will identify maple trees. You'll even see one get tapped!

March 17 - Maple Syrup 201: Tap the Town ($10 PER TAP)
10 a.m.; could last up to 2 hours
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to tap your very own maple tree! Get the low down on the tapping process before hitting the streets to tap one of the many maples right in the Village of Nashville! Be sure to reserve your tree...this interactive "Sapturday" is sure to be a hit! Sap not included. GET TICKETS

March 24 - Maple Syrup 301: Sap Collection ($10)
10 a.m.; could last up to 2 hours
Learn all about sap from our maple expert before taking a stroll through town to check the sap buckets! Measure and test what you find, even taste some fresh sap! Then at 1 p.m., head to the State Park for Maple March, a special guided hike with a Naturalist. Learn about maple trees, how to spot them, and tap them! (*tickets for this "Sapturday" event also include admission into the Maple March; park gate fees still apply). GET TICKETS

March 31 - Maple Syrup 401: Cooking with Maple Syrup ($10)
10 a.m.; should last about 1 hour
Ever wonder what you can do with maple syrup besides put it on your pancakes? Let a chef teach you all the ways you can use maple syrup while cooking. Do some taste testing while you're at it! Next, make your way to the Nashville Fudge Kitchen to see a live demonstration of how they use maple syrup in their tasty confections! GET TICKETS
