Hoosier National Forest is 200,000 acres. Hiking, Mountain Biking, and Primitive Camping are available for recreational use. Brown County Hiking trails include Nebo Ridge and Ogala Trails. Brown County Mountain Biking trails include Nebo Ridge, Ogala, and Hickory Ridge Trails. Passes can be purchased at Crouch’s Market (988-7203), just east of Stone Head.

Nebo Ridge Mountain Biking Trail

Description: Nebo Ridge Trail is also known as Knobstone Trail, although the actual Knobstone Trail (hiking only) is further south and is not connected. Nebo Ridge Trail is like a roller coaster through the woods, with lots of short and fast ups and downs. There are other trails that connect to this out back trail, but they are designated for hiking only*.
Directions: Take State Road 135 south to Story, go straight at stop sign by the Story Inn until you see the sign, Nebo Ridge Trail Head on the left hand side of the road, approximately 3 miles.
