About Wildflower Foray
Every Spring (late April) T.C. Steele State Historic Site hosts an annual cooperative event. A weekend full of hiking, counting wildflowers, identifying Indiana flora and fauna on hikes, boat trips, and photography excursions all over the county! Over the past 30+ years, this has gone from a 1 day event to a 3 day event, the number of hikes and programs has doubled, and its expanded into new wildflower habitats. Hikes and programs are held on T.C. Steele grounds on established trails, and on other nearby natural areas including DNR properties, Hoosier National Forest, Yellowwood State Forest, etc.
