About Indigo Birding Nature Tours
Brown County is full of nature, and David Rupp, owner of IndiGo Birding Nature Tours, LLC, is ready to help you experience and appreciate it to the fullest. IndiGo Birding also offers customized tours for groups and individuals. David will work with you to design a tour that meets your interests, schedule, and physical abilities. While many of the tours focus on the spectacular birds found in the area, other tours feature the history of the land as well as the wildflowers, trees, and other plants found here.
The following tours are examples of the most popular requests:
- Yellowwood State Forest and Stillwater Marsh: These two areas are home to a wide diversity of birds, both migratory and resident. Depending on the season, tours can be designed to show you warblers and songbirds, waterfowl, bald eagles, or shorebirds. Often many of these birds are present, and David will help you to identify birds by sight and sound on all tours.
- Story to Elkinsville: Take a trip back in time, learning about the history of this area from pre-settlement to current day. Surrounded by Hoosier National Forest and the headwaters of Lake Monroe, this tour can include lots of hiking and birding, or it can focus on stories and legends from a time gone by. In any situation, lunch at the Story Inn is highly recommended!
- Brown County State Park: The largest state park in Indiana provides enough material for its own tour! Hike through beautiful Ogle Hollow Nature Preserve, marvel over the amazing fall colors, or enjoy a driving tour that gives you an in-depth appreciation and understanding of the park.
For groups of 5 or less, the cost is $50 plus $20/hour. The price will be negotiated on an individual basis for larger groups. Visit www.indigobirding.com to learn more, or contact David at firstname.lastname@example.org to see what tour is best for you!
