B3 Gallery Presents Secrets Revealed: The Ancient Art of Turkish Marbling

Marilyn J. Brackney is a Columbus, Indiana artist who was named an Indiana Artisan last fall for her marbled fabric and paper collages. She is the only Hoosier artist to earn this designation for marbling. After creating her own papers she then makes collages.

Maritime Exhibit at the Brown County Art Guild

The Brown County Art Guild is excited to present a two-month long exhibit focusing on Maritime scenes. From tugs to tankers and seabirds to seashores, you’ll see work in a variety of mediums from the Guild's historic permanent collection, as well as new work from Guild Artist Members with a focus on water, something that connects us all.

Introduction to Mandala Art

Roughly translated Mandala means circle. These repetitive patterns are found in nature in biology, physics, geology, chemistry, and astrology. Many cultures use the mandala as a spiritual symbol, and creating mandalas is also used as art therapy. Making a mandala is a soothing process that can be enjoyed by anyone. Cost includes all supplies and a mat for framing your piece. Class size is limited, so pre-register to hold your spot.

Painting Demonstration with Larry Rudolech

Oil Painting Plein Air/Studio Workshop with Bill Farnsworth

Bill Farnsworth will teach a four-day oil painting Plein air/studio workshop this summer! For two days students will paint on location Plein air and two days in the studio. In the field, Bill will show students how to choose, edit, and capture the essence of a scene. Back in the studio, students will work from studies and photos. Strong emphasis will be on good values, shapes, and color temperature.

30th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest

Head to the 30th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest and experience the tradition of plein air painting as registered artists paint on the T.C. Steele State Historic Site grounds. Part of Art Colony Weekend. Enjoy painting demonstrations, a live concert, a beer garden, and lunch too!

Children paint along on two occasions interpreting Spring as she emphasizes environmental issues.

Interpreting Realty - Carolyn Anderson Workshop

Learn to interpret and see visual information in a new and interesting way! Carolyn’s teaching is based on years of experience explaining how to interpret edges, color temperature, and shapes, and learning how to recognize patterns and make comparisons. Her goal is to empower artists to look and see a little differently and be able to expand their own personal expression. Instruction will be in oils and the class is primarily for the intermediate to advanced painter.
