Halloween in the Hills at Brown County State Park

Pirates have invaded the Friendly Forest! Jackson Township Fire Department invites you to its October Friendly Forest! Come play in the forest, an interactive adventure greeted by friendly fire fighters. Cute enough for toddlers and friendly enough for all ages. Games, food and fun for all. Come in costume!

Haunted Trail and Barn at Deer Run Park

The ticket booth will be located at the upper concession stand at Deer Run Park. Children under 12 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The Haunting at Shireman Homestead

Come to the farm for a night of fright! Take a walk into the woods past the Western town and into the many mazes that await. Explore the mine and village too! Be sure to watch out for the Headless Horseman and make a run for the bridge for a tractor ride back! Scare time is from 8-11 p.m.; The Haunting will be kid friendly (non-scare time) from 4-6 p.m.

Each year the show changes - singing, dancing, laughter, special effect lighting and lots of music! Santa Claus always makes an appearance. The Brown County Playhouse is home to this annual event. Holiday Light Parade & Toy Drive

The Holiday Light Parade offers a variety of unique and brightly lit floats traveling through the Village of Nashville. Make plans to enjoy an evening of parade fun! Hot chocolate and cookies will also be offered at various sites throughout the Village. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to the Light Parade. Donation sites will be located throughout the Village or you can give your toy to a float representative in the parade! Donated toys will be dropped off to the local Salvation Army for distribution to Brown County families in need.

19th Annual Reindeer Romp

Grab your shoes and participate in the 19th Annual Reindeer Romp, an 8K run or a 5K run/walk, at the Brown County State Park. Everyone is welcome to run or walk in the event - the more the merrier! Bring your family and friends, grab your reindeer antlers and participate in this fun event for a great cause! Pre-register online or register the day of the race.

Stuff a Stocking

Children are invited this Christmas to follow a map to over 25 local Brown County merchants to gather treats, ornaments, toys and more to stuff their Christmas stocking! Hosted by the Brown County Community Foundation, only 300 tickets will be sold for this annual event. Ticket holders receive a commemorative Christmas stocking and a map to the participating merchant locations. Tickets sell out quickly to this festive and fun event. Get yours today!

Santa’s Zip N' Sip at eXplore Brown County

Ho, ho, ho Santa is at eXplore Brown County to zip with you and to find out if you’ve been good! Santa will share the beauty of the winter landscape in the Brown County hardwood forest. The terrain looks so different...the vista opens and you can see for miles. Perhaps you will even catch a few snowflakes as you soar 90 ft in the air across the frozen lake. Santa will investigate with you the winter life of the forest. Who is sleeping the winter away and who is up foraging the woods? Take photos with Santa, sit on his lap, and tell him what you are dreaming of for the holidays! Santa will end the tour with a cup of hot cocoa in the nice warm Harvest Hall. Don’t forget the marshmallows!

Christmas Log Cabin Tour

2018 December 1

Go on a home tour of four log homes and the Presbyterian log church decorated for the holidays! This tour is self-guided, with homeowners at each location to provide history on the homes and the church. Included on the tour is a 1937 log home which was built using logs from the 1800s. Other homes include a new partial-log home, a completely renovated log home, a log home once owned by notable Brown County artist Marie Goth, and an old log church. All proceeds go to programming for the Brown County Historical Society.
