Art Colony Weekend
The Brown County Art Guild is hosting the 4th Annual Brown County Art Colony Weekend. This event is a celebration of the rich artistic history and exciting future of Brown County! The 30th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest, a Villagescape Paint Out, a Community Paint-Along, music, auctions, and more!
Friday, September 7 - 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm
Brown County Public Library (205 Locust Lane)
The Friends of the Brown County Public Library and the Library’s Art Advisory committee are hosting the opening reception “Prelude pARTy!” Admission includes tours of the Brown County Pottery and Permanent Collection highlights, live music, and a silent auction. Wine and light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased by mailing a check to Friends of Brown County Library, P.O. Box 1184, Nashville, IN 47448, or also at the Library front desk and at the Brown County Visitors Center. Proceeds will support library programs and to help with the purchase of historical Brown County artwork for the collection.
AGAIN - A Festival of New Art Made with Old Stuff

30th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest
Saturday, September 8 - 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
T.C. Steele State Historic Site (4220 T.C. Steele Road)
The oldest plein air painting competition in Indiana celebrates its 30th year in 2018! Gates open at 7 a.m. for artists to bring their blank pages and canvases to be stamped in the site classroom, then it’s off to work. Artwork is judged at 2 p.m. beside the Formal Garden, and awards for child and adult categories are announced starting at 3:15 p.m. First Place and People’s Choice winners will be displayed at the Brown County Art Guild following the Paint Out. Community Paint Together

Tilton Corner of the Village Green
All people, locals and visitors, are encouraged to contribute to the 4' x 8' mural representing what Brown County means to you. All paints, brushes, and cleanup are provided. The mural will be exhibited in various venues during the fall.
IHA Celebrates Today’s Masters

This event celebrates the first showing of Indiana Heritage Arts’ (IHA) entire permanent collection, its 40th anniversary, and also enables visitors to meet the masterful artists of those paintings.
Mellencougar Featuring Toby Myers & Silent Auction benefiting Brown County Backpackers

Brown County Playhouse (70 South Van Buren Street)
A tribute to America, Rock n’ Roll, and John Cougar Mellencamp. Mellencougar is made up of a group of musicians from the Illinois/Wisconsin scene. Their appreciation of the music of the Heartland and specifically John Cougar Mellencamp helped to create the band and gain the respect of many fans and musicians. This performance will feature special guest Toby Myers, a celebrated bass player for years with the Mellencamp band. Villagescape Plein Air Paint Out
