Art Colony

For an entire century, generations of artists and their arts have recognized and celebrated Brown County, Indiana. In 1907, painter T.C. Steele first established residence in Brown County, with many of his friends and colleagues soon following his example.

For over 100 years, painters, photographers, writers and other artisans have continued to find their inspiration here, surrounded by natural beauty, serenity and cultural charm.

Brown County has a way of capturing all the visual and experiential best of every season. Seasonal expression that is still being captured in the artistic work produced in this region.

Unique... Compelling... Steeped in tradition!

Welcome to The Art Colony of the Midwest: 100 plus years of arts and artists.
